A three-day mission event in Wallasey in July 2017
On the Friday night, the young people went along to St Hilary’s Church on Claremount Road in Wallasey between 7pm and 9pm to help out at their youth group, before getting into full swing on Saturday in Harrison Park at noon.
On the Saturday, jacket potatoes were served for lunch and then the young people led activities including sports, crafts, balloon modelling, face painting, games, science experiments and stage fighting workshops.
On the Saturday evening there was then a barbecue and quiz between 6pm and 8pm which the young people led and was free for the local community.
Sunday then saw the young people all involved in running the service at Wallasey URC, leading prayers, preaching, sharing testimony’s and leading worship. This was followed by a fantastic Sports Day which they ran in Harrison Park and lots of the local community came along between 12.30 and 4pm. Free picnic lunches were given out to all who came along with races, a tug of war, and egg and spoon race, and an inflatable assault course.
On both the Saturday and Sunday, in the open air, there were young people sharing their testimony’s of how they came to know Jesus as well as stories of healing and their journeys with Jesus. It really was amazing to see the young people step out in faith and be so bold for Jesus!
This whole event was put on to show the love of Jesus and to bless those in the local community as much as possible!”
Just like last year’s Love Wirral, the whole event was free of charge, thanks to hard work by the young people from Heswall Youth Fellowship, Moreton Baptist Church and adult volunteers Iona Farley, Karen Elson and Wallasey youth worker Matt Bentley.
